Chair – Sharron Robbie
Elected to the post of Chair in May 2006, Sharron has held a number of positions on Club, League and County committees over the past 20 years. A keen netball player Sharron has played at both Club and County level in the past. Sharron is an active player with new local side, The Cyan Tigers – made up of staff and students from City College Plymouth the team is enjoying its first season in the league. Sharron is currently working closely with Plymouth City Council in order to ensure that netball has a new home when the Plymouth Life Centre facility replaces the current home of netball, The Mayflower Centre.
General Secretary – Kelly Nicholson
Kelly has played within the PDNL league for many years and has been on the PDNL committee since 2003 acting as a representative for a number of divisions within the League. Kelly took on the challenging role of General Secretary in 2006. Kelly manages, coaches and plays within the newly formed Plympton Netball Club.
Membership Secretary – Kathy Bunney
Kathy has recenetly been elected to the post of Membership Secretary following a successful spell as Treasurer and Fixtures Secretary. Kathy has a wealth of experience within Netball as both a player and an umpire, and professionally has worked within the financial sector.
Web and Publicity Officer - Nikki Millings
Nikki brings a wealth of netballing knowledge to Plymouth Netball following a long and successful playing career. Nikki is still actively involved in Premier A side Nuffield Mini Angels. Fixtures Secretary – Marc Whaley
Having been involved with OPUS for a few years due to my better half playing for them, I ended up attending the AGM this year with her as the secretary for OPUS was away. For some reason I enquired about there being no fixtures secretary and what would it involve doing. A few minutes later I was voted into the position none the wiser!
Umpiring Secretary – Karen Jones
Karen is an A Award umpire, officiating at a national and regional level as well as in the local league. She is a qualified tutor and tester and is also the West Devon Netball chair and a director on the Netball South West board, co-charing the region’s Education and Training group. Karen hopes to work with the league’s umpires in 2010 to raise the profile of officiating through a number of initiatives.
Coaching Secretary Denise Ellis
The PDNL Coaching secretary is in place to develop coaching within the league and to support all coaches, wishing to develop their coaching.
Results Secretary Premier A & B – Elisa McKinley
Elisa is the divisonal representative for Plymouth Netball’s premier divisions. This her third year in post as the results secretary for these two very competitive divisions.
A keen netballer, Elisa has played Netball at junior and senior level, and has represented West Devon in the past. Currently playing for Rockys Net Angels in defence, she also Captains her side.
Results Secretary 1 & 2 – Sharon Spry
Sharon is the PDNL results secretary for Divisions 1 & 2, she plays and coaches within the Plympton netball club and is the team captain of Anixter netball team who recently got promoted to Prem B, She has a daughter kerry who also plays in the the team.
She hopes to continue to play for many more year
Results Secretary 3 & 4 – Maddy Doyle
Maddy is the PDNL results secretary for division three. A keen netball player at primary and secondary school Maddy had a four year gap before returning to the sport. Playing in the Plymouth League for ten years Maddy also manages a team which has just joined forces with Plympton Netball Club. Maddy loves netball and cannot envisage a time when she is not playing.
Welfare Officer – Vicki Clarke
Vicki plays for The Toms netball team, within Plympton Netball Club, she also umpires and coaches the under 13’s at Plymouth Marjon Netball Club. Vicki recently graduated from Marjons University College with a BA Honours in Community Practice with Applied Sport Science and Coaching. Vicki is looking forward to supporting players, coaches, umpires and supporters in having a safe, enjoyable and positive netball experience with the Plymouth and District League. Junior League Representative – Linda Darke
Linda has been playing netball for over thirty years progressing through the divisions to eventually playing in Premier A. She has played for a number of teams, the first being the Halifax Building Society and in later years for Ace who are part of the Ivybridge Netball Club.
Fifteen years ago Linda helped to set up and run a junior netball club and so began her involvement with the junior league. Two of her daughters have progressed through this league to successfully play senior netball and as a result she is totally committed to supporting and encouraging young players to experience the enjoyment of being part of a team playing in the junior league.
